also i htink theDW 9000 and the yamah flying dragon are pretty evenly matched, but the 9000 is more adjustable.

Just letting you know, he was kidding when he was typing like that. Nothing personal, but ive been on here for about three years (different usernames), and i know how he normaly acts here. And i agree with you with the flying dragon part. I LOVE mine.

I hate to tell ya blackpanther, but how long people have been playing does not give you an accurate level of how "good" people are.

right don't try and get at me i've been having lessons for about ten years

and wat r u talking about when u say this= 2 years with good instruction and practice> 10 years of self taught jamming
this is just stupid and u know it a self taught person in tens would be amazing infact Jose pasillas was self taught and hes only been playing 9 years and i bet he *Poop* on ur playing

next time think before u type[/quote]

He thought before he typed. Its you who needs to think before typing. Notice how he said "in MOST cases" (i even bolded it for you), and didnt say alwyas, or didnt imply always.

Im going to have to agree with what he said. With proper instruction, you dont grow bad habbits, your learning what you need to, and you can always get helpful hints, and you have sombody to point out to you if you have bad technique, that you can fix.

With just jamming by your self, your not going to progress as fast, and you will develop tons of bad habbits, that will be near impossible to break after 9 years of playing. If you have the right teacher, just simple half hour lessons a week can go a long way.

Anyways, to the origional poster, yes, some of the higher end DW pedals are amazing, and the entry level dw pedals arent bad either. I dont know about DW pedals being the best by far, and just using DW in general doesnt mean anything. Entry level DW pedals are not better than top of the line Yamahas, or tama pedals.

And im also going to agree with what phantom said. You have to earn your respect, and cant automaticly bag on well respected members that have been here for wayyyy longer than you have.

Wow .. I thought this was a place to help fellow musicians not bash them... and as an added bonus having a grammer class to boot ! Outstanding !! Maybe after we're done feeding our own ego's and patting ourselves on the back about "how long we've been here" and "listen to my Demo" that we might consider acting like adults and treating everyone with a little respect . I've mainly lurked simply because it seems that every topic somewhere down line ends up in negativity towards someone asking a simple question to launching a full bore personal attack on them... I could think of a thousand ways to welcome someone without all the negativity... I can hardly wait for the comedians to respond..

show a little respect to fellow drummers even when they dont have the same opinion as you.

dear mr funky,

You said that U thik dat dw pedalz are da best becuz TraVis barker Uses THen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. 1st off BAD GRAMMAR ALERT!! 2nd, just because someone famous uses something doesnt mean its the best. belive me, travis barker is in my top list of favorite drummers, but whatever is "best" is mainly based on personal preference, and in some cases, price. and i do agree that DW's r overpriced. and although many o' u dont LOVE DW's as much as blackpanther, it will always be personal preference just like many cases in drumming. yoy!

yours truly,
your friendly neighborhood cardboardsamurai

i also agree with SketcHyRollin564, i am kinda sorta newer to this site, but i still try not to be a jerk and post comments that insult someone. you do have to earn respect so i just try to post comments that answer the original question.yes they r a wee bit overpriced so try to go with a cheaper option that is still of high quality. and i also agree that you WILL develop bad habits by teaching yourself, and in many cases, drumming depends on tecnique, not just how long u've been playing. and seriously guys, just cuz he thinks that DW's r the best doesnt meen he is a n00b. i guess that compared to many of u on this site, i am considered a n00b, but i still have the common sense not to be a jerk just cuz you have a different opinion. black panther also said that, " anyway i do respect ur views it was just like u were getting at me because i'm new to this forum but then again that don't mean i new to drums u should keep an open mind like i do mate" which i strongly agree with. (and he said mate which was cool. i love that word!) so guys, respect other peoples opinions. (sweet ive never typed this much b4)

from,
your friendly neighborhood cardboardsamurai Laughing
