I'm sorry but that doesn't even make sense. How hard you have to push on the pedal depends on how you adjust it. Mine, whether it's left or right, I don't have to push hard. Think of tapping your finger on the table to keep a beat and that's about how hard I tap on the drum pedal. I just plain get shin splints easy and so my upper ankle/shins hurt from the motion... it's not a strenuous activity that I get tired from but rather my legs can't take the motion.

Oh no, I wouldn't say that, lol. It just appears you haven't really worked with a double pedal alot. Decent ones (not sure about the el cheapo ones) you can adjust alot of crap on it, custom tailoring the feel to exactly how you want it.

That could be the problem, i have played with studio double pedals that i didn't adjust to my requirements (to don't waste time).

the tama iron cobras i play cannot be adjusted to have them strike an equal distance from the center of the bass drum head. it's as simple as that. _________________ Pazuzu is often depicted with the body of a man but with the head of a lion or dog, talons instead of feet, two pairs of wings, the tail of a scorpion and with a snake-like penis.

Well yeah man, cost is definitely one thing. And you get yourself another piece, that means you've got one more thing to worry about when transporting and gigging. If you're specifically a studio drummer, then hey, go for the second bass drum. Plus, two bass drums limits your amount of versatility as far as where you want to move the rest of your rack toms/cymbals, etc, just because if you've got those two big bass drums, you've got pretty much one specific place to center them that feels good, ie. you can't really move around the rest of it. AND! (as if I haven't said enough) with a double pedal you can have your hihat really close to your slave pedal instead of as close as you can get it because of that *Holy Censor, Batman* second drum.

If the slave pedal is a problem is a problem, you could get an offset pedal. I know sonor has one for over $1000, but explorer's percussion offers one exactly like it for $300. Has anyone tried one?
