hey, so i want to buy a new drumset in the price range from 500-900 bucks. im currently using a ludwig accent combo and i want a nice warm sounding kit like jose pasillas(incubus) or travis barker(blink 182,
+44). I know they use remo coated emporers and maple shells but im basically looking for the best kit in that price range which could help me achieve that sound.
thanks! |

| Pacific makes maple shells for a great price, and you can pick up a CX shell kit at Guitar Center for like $650 around here. I don't know anything about quality, I'm going back tomorrow to mess around with them, but I know they sound pretty amazing. |

Actually Travis Barker uses Acrylic OCDPs and its very unlikely that ull find an acrylic kit in your price range!!!
But you really cant go wrong with the PDP kits |

If you really want maple, and for a good price, there's the Mapex Pro M too. They run just barely out of your price range, @~$1000 for a 5 piece.
If you still want maple, but want to stay in that price range, my suggestion would be the PDP CX previously mentioned. Prices depend on the finish and the hardware: (5 pieces)
CX: covered finish, 8.155 hardware, $950
MX: matte finish, 8.155 hardware, $950
LX: laquer finish, 9.155 hardware, $1300
Previously poster said the CX shell pack is around $650, so that would be about $300 more for PDP's 8.155 hardware if you buy they kit as a whole. One way to pick up a kit for a cheap price is to get one slightly used, just being slightly used will normally knock a couple of hundred bucks off the price but still be basically buying new. |
