i'm looking to spend $600-$800 on drum shells for studio and performance use.
i play mostly reggae and african pop music, but also play in an indie rock band.
ive been looking into the Taye Pro-X series 20" bass, 10,12,14 toms plus hardware in silver sparkle for about $740 new. i'd buy this used but i think it would hard to find used on ebay with the 20" bass drum.

does anyone know about Taye drums? quality?
would i be better off scouring Ebay for vintage and/or used drums shells?
the thing is, i really want those drum sizes and i'd prefer a silver sparkle finish to match my existing snare drum.

any advice??

cheers,
brian
