Yeah, I actually think the kit is nice as hell Smile I'm envious of all of your cymbals...

Who cares what kind of drums they are? That kit looks like it would be a blast to play. Have fun with 'em, man!

Welcome to Drum Dogs, btw.

How about that close-up shot of your Pork Pie snare?

Thats cool man, I just felt a little negativity by some of the replies. I certaily didn't mean to make anyone jealous, or to be a show off. I am, however very proud of my drums and I have worked my whole life almost to get them. I know Swingstars aren't the top of the line, but they do have mohogany shells now whereas they used to have some kind of pressed particle board type shells which sounded pretty good to me. I haven't tuned this kit up yet because my job on the railroad has kept me out of town allot. I know they are similar to the Pearl exports, and I know allot of people who have them and they are quite pleased with them. I just am partial to Tama drums. I did notice the new Swingstars are considerably lighter in weight than the old Swingstars I had were. I hope they sound good when I get them tuned up.....We shall see.

Thanks

Jamie

Yeah, that storm was a rough one. Over 500,000 homes lost power here in St. Louis, including mine. Some people may still be without power. Where are you in IL?

Those swingstar shells are from 2004, so they aren't "old n trusty" like you think, kunnigeti. And also, i share your situation, Test4Eco23, i also have an entry level kit because i seriously lack on money and on job opportunities.. Anyways is a great looking kit!! And you have the cymbals.. that rocks for sure Smile

I live about an hour north of Peoria in a small community. I don't know if you are familiar with Quincy Ill, but I travel to Quincy on the train frequently for work.

Yeah, I'm kind of familiar with Quincy. That's a great looking snare. How did you get the starman graphics on that?

First of all, they are a lower level of Tama. I understand that, but they are all I could afford. I had a Swingstar for about 15 years and I was very pleased with them. I started out 25 years ago with a 5 piece blue glitter drum set. The brand name was "Sorento" I played with them for a while until I got a Tama Swingstar when I was a sophomore in High School. I have worked very hard to buy everything for my kit myself over the years. I have had nothing given to me. As far as quantity over quality. Like I said, I started out with a 5 piece drum set like most people but I worked over the years adding and piecing together this setup. My Roland electronics aren't top of the line either, but they work for what I am doing with them. I wish I could afford a DW kit this size but I have a family to support, a house payment, car payment and bills like everyone else. I think it is a nice setup for a person of my means who is not a proffesional and not in a band. I just thought I would share it with some fellow drummers, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Jamie

+1 for being a drummin daddy

and i have to agree with bytor. even though, they are entry level shells, that kit would sure as hell be fun to play on

I bet you could set up a Rush Tribute band pretty quick with a set like that. I think it's pretty rad.
