Hey guys,
First Thing, Glad to be part of the forums!!!
Second thing, I'm starting from scratch. I've been playing for maybe 4 years but when I learned, I skipped the basics and went straight for speed to play in a metal band! \m/ In doing this, I gained speed incorrectly and found myself at a stand point in my progression. I am self tought and recently I have bought books such as "The Everything Drums Book", and some others to help me learn what I missed out on. After just reading the first 20 pages I knew what I was doing wrong, how to fix it, and was able to fix the problem quickly! I am going the direction I want to in my drumming.

Im sure I'm not the only person who has bypassed the basic and ESSENTIAL parts of drumming and found themselves stuck, with that said, Im an open book. I am open for any tips, concerns, references, clinics, online references, ANYTHING would be helpful.

Thanks guys and looking forward to participating on the forums!!!

Yeah it was more like trial by fire lol Shocked , but all my mates were my friends so they were patient. I started listening to every speed drummer and just tried to replicate what they do.

Welcome to Drumdogs and I'd bet you're no different than half of us here with jumping right into drumming. Never too late to catch up.

our little girl's growing up so fast.

soon she'll be off on her own, go to college, maybe get get married and have children and a flying minivan for antigravity (soccer) football games.

she'll forget all about us.

maybe she'll name the family dog "drum."
