I played ddrum electrics in the 90s when they were the top of the line item in the field. I expected a high standard of quality from a name once associated with top notch products.
This kit suffers from cheap hardware-itis. Not only are the stands and mounts of low quality, but the lugs and floor tom legs are the worst I've seen on any kit in this price range.
This kit was purchased, re-headed and taken to record. Several of the toms had a buzz. It was discovered that the screws holding the lug mounts to the drum were loose and had to be retightened. The RIMS-style mount for the 12" tom arrived with the rubber gaskets missing from two of the lugs. The snare has a lower-end strainer on it: appears to be plastic. The floor tom legs insert through plastic mounts. The kick drum mount for the 12" tom is limited in tom placement.
The floor toms and kick sound huge, the snare sound is iffy.
I hate to have to say it, but my CB Drums kit has a significantly higher quality than anything I've seen from this kit. It really should be priced in competition with the beginner's line of kits. I am sorely disappointed. Fortunately, it wasn't me who bought the kit.

| The lower end ddrum kits suck and are butt ugly. The higher end ddrum kits on the other hand are great. |

| It looks like that set is being marketed to 12-year-old wannabe punks, instead of people who actually know how to play the drums. |

Is the Diatribe Maple one of their higher-end kits? or is that just the same as the Diablo? _________________

I have this kit.
It's the Dominion Pocket Kit and it's awesome. I tried EC2 coateds but they were dead. I put on Remo Pinstripes and now they are gig quality. _________________ Bish

You won't believe how large the kick drum is. It's the best sounding of all the drums. According to Ddrum, this kit is supposed to be maple. GC and the Ddrum information all state that.
And since I gig with this kit, it's serving me well. _________________ Bish
