I've been playing drums since I was 14 (I'm 40 now), and I could never tune by ear worth a *Holy Censor, Batman*. I bought a Drumdial about 2 years ago, and am VERY happy with it. A buddy of mine who is in a Big Band orchestra borrowed mine for a recording session to tune his Yamaha SCs, and he was amazed as well. He told me that the sound engineer couldn't believe that the drums needed no "tweaking" to sound just right for recording.
They made my entry level Tama Stagestars sound professional, and my Yamaha Stage Custom Nouveaus sound perfect...make it easy on yourself and stop the guesswork.
