I was looking in to buying this thing and i was talking to a mate about it and he told me that it if i am recording multiple tracks at once it will only send the setreo mix and not each individual track to the computer. I was just wondering if anyone can comfirm this? I am very new to this so any info would be much apreciated.

Thanks

USB mixers only send a stereo feed. Look into a firewire mixer for the ability to record all your tracks separately. The Mackie Onyx series would probably work for you, though they're more expensive than the yamaha. The presonus Firepod/Firestudio would also be worth a look.

The Presonus Firewire is a good bet for ya, but may run a little more depending on how many inputs exactly you want. $300 gets you 6, $500 gets you 10 with some extra goodies built in and then $700 gets you the bad boy with 24 inputs.

The Mackies come with alot of build in goodies and they seem to have more of just the high end stuff. ~$550 gets you their cheapest 12 channel mixer.

You can also check out the Alesis iO|26. A lot like the others and somewhat cheaper
