Looks great. How does the transition from the single-ply coated heads on your rack toms to the double-ply coated Response 2s on your floor toms sound to you? It seems like it would work quite well.

Actually because I have 12" 13" and 14" in size so I wanted to make the gap between the 13" and 14" the most obvious that it could be and I dont regret at all the decision. The rack toms sing and floor toms dance with a deep warm tone. If ever I need to replace the response II, I'll still go with double ply head but it might be the new Super-2.

You hear the difference when I do fills from my 10" to 16". Absolutely awesome !

Now why not updating my kit thread...

Well gentlemen, it's about time for me to upgrade some of my gears.

First, I planned long time ago to replace my stock HP-30 pedal, I was in shopping mode for a long time on ebay for a good double pedal in good condition. I had four product I had my eyes on which were TAMA IC, PEARL ELIM, YAMMY FD and DW (above the 4000 series). Not much luck in winning bid or BIN, I decided I had enough and went with something brand new. First, I'm definitely not a pro and second, I'm not a "SOAB" rich guy so based on that and on many thread in drummer forum, I decided the DW 7002PT was a good choice, it's considered as one of the best pedal for the money.

I ordered from an ebay store and received two free gifts which was a drop clutch and Zildjian baseball cap. I also went shopping at my local dealer, which hold Aquarian products in stock, for a double kickpad. No luck there were any but the good news was he had a Coated Force 1 in stock and priced at 25$ cdn and these series of heads come with a free single kickpad, guess what I done...

I finally decided to treat all my toms with tung oil so I reorganised my setup in the "1 up two down" config. I now have 12x9 UP and 14x11 - 16x16 down. I also reduced the number on cymbals, I removed both china and my splash.

Now have a look...

My treated 10" and 13", next will be the 12" and 14" making my kit 10" - 13" - 16".

1.) upload your images to the internet. you can use your own webspace, or a hosting site like photobucket.com

2.)copy the url of the image, and paste it between the [img] tags on the board. i know photobucket actually gives you the php code you need, so just copy and paste that and youre set.

3.)profit.

Here's the setup I'm playing since two weeks. It's my 10 incher up and my (everyones hate this size) 13x10 and 16x16 down. Both my 10" & 13" have been treated with tung oil and now fitted with nylon washers on the hoops. These toms have never sounded like they sound now ! Bright warm and resonant.

The 3 inches gap in toms diameter make the kit sounding orgasmic. It's very funny how melodic you can do toms grooves.

BTW, both my 12" & 14" have been treated too but I didn't try them yet. Next my 16" then my bass drum...

Anyway here's it is... (PS dont mind the pics date, it's wrongly one month later).

Very Happy

REMO Fiberskyn III FA with the vintage Gene Krupa front head logo. It also make the drum sound full and resonant.

I'd like to add to "My kit thread" two new gears that I've forgot to post when I got them so here they are...

First, back in October 2007 I bought on ebay using the BIN (70$ cdn) a brand new Mapex Pro M (all maple) 14x5.5 snare in cherry fade.

Finally in the first week of December, I bought, again on eBay using the BIN (14$ cdn) an used (with messy fingerprint) but in very good condition a Paiste 8" Accent cymbal.

I'll post pics of my shopping that I've made with money I received for Christmas as soon as my order arrive.
