I'm 41 tomorrow (27/01/07), been playing drums since I was 13, did my first paid gig at 16, I'm now lucky enough to have turned pro as a session drummer, I'm found on myspace at www.myspace.com/uncleflash.
I play a variety of kits but my favourite is my 2001 American spec Gretsch Maple Renown, not to be confused with the current Renown kits. Snare wise I use a 1967 Ludwig Acrolite, a 1960's Rogers Dynasonic, a 1980's Premier 2000 series, 14x8", birch monster and a maple Gretsch that came with the Renown. I use Zildjians, with a mixture of 'K's and vintage stuff. I also use congas, a djembe, bongos and various shakers with various solo artists.
I also run an eBay shop of sorts buying and selling mostly vintage drum gear and some custom built kits I build myself. Lastly I teach drums and percussion and have done for about a decade.
So that's me. |

Nothing specific, I really just like to work with really talented people, doesn't always work out that way though. Got a load of work this year with a few projects, I'm doing an album with a country artist called Mr Plow, and an album with a real oddball out fit called ist whom I've been with for 6 years. apart from that I'm gigging and recording with a new band called Stressbitch with is run by ex Crazyhead bass player Porkbeast. Also got work with The Soar Valley Wayfarers as part of the new Britskiffle movement.
Should be a busy year. |
