Okay guys, i violated the drumming handbook on this one
I wanted to get a splash that was slightly high toned, but also dark and atmospheric, it wouldnt stand out, but if it was missing you'd notice it. Immediately i thought K Custom, generally dark interesting cymbals, then i went with a smaller size 8 inch, to capture the higher tone than say a 12. I searched guitar center and other local music stores and nobody had them so i ordered one without hearing it yet (other than those cheesy sound bytes online, ive heard those and compared to cymbals i own and generally it wasnt a good reference for me). It comes in January 4th (backordered) and i was wondering if you guys had ever played on one or heard one and what did you think. _________________ Capitalism is where man exploits man, Communism is the other way around. |

It's not easy to get a clear picture of other peoples tastes and what sound they're after. Zild' K is generally darker sounding but as for splashes, it's hard to get a "dark" sound out of an 8" cymbal. The K splashes I've tried (a 10" and a 12") sounded really good and they fitted perfectly with the other K cymbals in the setup (some dark 16" crash and an ordinary K 20" ride). I don't think You'll be disappointed! _________________ My Premier Artist Maple set! |
