| Is there any reason why you couldn't play "world percussion" instruments like bongos with sticks? I'm thinking about adding some to my set to play with. |

There really isn't any reason not to, no. I do think bongos (well, all hand drums really) sound better with hands than sticks, but it can be made to fit. If nothing else Dave Weckl has a set somewhere in his kit. _________________ So with that title, do I Godwin every thread now?

There's no reason you can't do it. We see that happen in classical percussion all the time. _________________ "To recap, we've learned that Billy Cobham practices on water and Thomas Lang walks on it...I might have to bring this information to the local seminary to get their opinion..."

I'm pretty excited about this actually. The guys I jam with have another song started and it just sounds like it's in desperate need of some bongos. It would be played with the hands for this song, but I was thinking down the road they would be a nice accentuation with the sticks.
thanks for the replies |

| Anyone know where I could find some pictures of someone incorporating bongos into a typical 5/6pc kit? I'm trying to figure out exactly where they'd go on my kit.... |
