I know how to write real drum music on manuscript paper. Does anyone know of any good software programs that let you create drum music onscreen and then you print it out?

I don't mean drum tabs, I mean actual correct drum theory.

Finale... it seems to be pretty much the industry standard...

I use tabtrax (google it) It is cheaper than finale and you can also save the transcriptions as soundfiles too. Very user friendly as well.

Is there anything where you can put things on your drums and it shows what you played on your comp?

Unfortunately no, well....if there is, it's going to cost you some money.

You can also try Finale's OneNote. It's free, but the only downside to it is that it doesn't make any drum sounds. It's weird, you can choose a drum set but when you put a note on the hi-hat it gives a whistle, and an odd sound for each drum.

You can do this through midi. Buy drum triggers and run them through a drum module which can run midi out. Then any midi capably software can pick it up and display the notes. I have garageband and it'll even take what I play and write it into signature.
