Actually, No. It requires a pretty loose grip. If you watch "adam's song" by blink 182, (the video by the way) you can see that he looks like and octopus be cause his arms are very high and his wrists and stuff like throw down alot. But it does in fact need a fairly loose grip. A tight grip wouldn't let you throw it down as if you tried your whole arm would go down with it.

i f*cking agree, FwuffyTheBunny...tight grip means limited motion and dented-up drum heads
