Explain what you mean exactly, if you can play it on the ride, it doesn't make sense how you wouldn't be able to play it on the hi hat, unless of course you rely mainly on the bouncing of the ride to play it. Rise Against isn't exactly the fastest stuff in the world, but if it is just the hi hat you are having trouble with, there are a few placement changes you could make... move the hi hat forward a bit and more inward in your set. and another thing, which I probably wouldn't suggest, is move the hi hat to the other side of the set to where the ride is.
tell me one more thing, is it fatigue taht is screwing you up? or is it taht you are missing alot of the beats on the hats? _________________ ***HOOK IN MOUTH!!!***

| I reckon it's way easier to play on the ride over the hats. The hats are locked in position and don't have any "GIVE" unless open of course... wheras the ride cymbal just seems to flow with the stick. A second set of closed hats would be awesome sittin' right next to your ride. |
