| So since I'm upgrading my entire set (I wouldn't even say upgrading, more like buying a new one, ha) I would like some good quality hardware to go with my Tama Starclassics. I've always liked boom stands over straight ones, so what do you guys like? I don't hit very hard, so extremely heavy stands aren't really a necessity, but a bonus if it's not too much money. I really don't want to spend more than $60, either. |

Glad you're not needing anything heavy duty because for $60, you won't get much at all.
In England, you won't get a decent boom for under £50, thats nearly $100 |

| Look into the Tama Roadpro stands. They're top notch quality for a reasonable price. |

| Thanks, bytor. I was wondering if the Pearl ones are really any good...the drum store owner here swears by the Pearl booms....maybe that's cause he sells em...heh heh. |

I've had pretty good luck with Pearl, but when it comes to hardware, I've never seen as much value for the money as the Tama Roadpro stands. Gibraltar, Mapex, and Pearl come pretty close, but I prefer the Tama stands.
I'm not trying to tell you what to buy, though. You should get whatever looks best to you. This is just my experience. |

I've been looking at the Roadpro for my next upgrade, I've heard nothing but good reviews about them. How heavy are those? Are they reasonable to lug around? I heard the DW 9000s are extremely heavy, which is why I ask.
The pearl 2000 stands are ugly as anything IMO. _________________ Pacific MX

The Roadpros are not light. They aren't the heaviest I've ever picked up, but they definitely aren't light. That's one of the reasons they're rock solid, though. I think they're reasonable to lug around, though, as long as you don't have to lug about 10 of them.
I love the tilters on them. Good design, well executed. |
