I currently play on a Ludwig accent series lowest end Ludwig around I have to agree %100 with phantompong's post | Quote: | | I have a Ludwig Accent CS Combo, which, as brand name kits go, is lowest of the low. The drums are decent but the first thing you have to do is a head change. I'm not sure about the CS line but I think CS Elites come with Evans heads, so you might be good to go. The hardware, though, is awful. The stands wobble and rattle, the hi-hat clutch slips like nothing on earth and the pedal is practically unusable. It might get better the further along the line you go but if you want a roadworthy kit out of the box, I'd go with Gretsch, Tama, Mapex or Yamaha for a little more money | You can get a Tama rockstar for the same price for $500 but its just a shell pack and no hardware but I think tama rockstars are realy nice for the price but if you just want something that you can play "right out of the box" ludwig accent series mine came with 13" hi-hats and a 18" crash/ride(ziljian planet z) but as soon as I got it I put my double pedal on it got new hi-hat stand, cymbal stands, cymbals and heads and I do think it sounds great w remo pinstripes |

My kit is a Ludwig CS 5 piece-8",10",14",16" and 20" kick drum in wine red wraps. New heads/resos on order for the toms as I have already replaced the kick drum batter with a Remo pinstripe clear and added a sound port to the reso head.
I use a 14"x6" Premier Olympic chrome shell snare drum with a Remo clear reso and a Pinstripe coated batter(with Moongel).
I also have Bongos, tambourine and a cowbell for extra percussionability.
New cymbals also on order but at the momant I use:
Zildjian ZBT: 20"ride,20"china,18"med.crash,18"thin crash,14"HH,14"thin crash,10" K splash, 10"ZXT titanium splash and 2x 6" splashes.
I'm checking out Paiste Alphas or Meinls and will decide when I get a chance to play both sets.
That's all folks |
