Hey all!
I'm an 15 year old boy from denmark, and i like to play heavy metal... i have played for about 8 years (with some pause's), and i've had an Gibraltar double bass pedal with sum' heavy DW clubs (the one that is on every DW pedal) on since August.
I have played a lot of *Poop* with pantera, numbers like Cowboys From Hell, Primal Concrete Sledge and all those.
And now i wan't to improve my double pedal speed.
I think my tempo in 16th are around 132 bpm - 138 bpm,
and i have no problems with triplets and 4/16 in quick tempos.
I've been reading sum' of the other topics about dobbelt pedal playin', but i can't understand it quiet exactly... so if anyone would help me with how i should practice my skills, then please write!!! _________________ /out |

Drummin_Dan, i don't know, that's the problem...
what is heal toe?
i've just learned it myself, and i'm not too quick on the pedal....
well, when i play, my feets are raised from the pedals, if you know what i mean.
i just wan't to improve the speed of my feet... _________________ /out |

| it's like when you walk heel to toe, you put pressure with your heel while keeping your foot up to make the first stroke, then you use the pad of your foot to make the second stroke. If you do it right, the beater will hit the bdrum once and come back in time for your second stroke. It makes a buduh sound. Blast beats are RRLL as double strokes. That's my best explanation for heel/toe |

| just takes getting used to. You'll just get it...suddenly. BTW, try not to overemphasize your movements too much. Sometimes you can strain your feet. Hand exercises are good... but sometimes, working the feet can benefit playing. anyways...I'll go back to lamenting about how freaking cold it is right now http://www.drumdogs.com/message-board-forum/viewtopic.php?t=1470 |
