An emperor is quite a thick double ply head to have on a snare.
If you want a really natural sound, get an Ambassador head. Every head on my kit, besides the snare are Evans, but you just can't beat an Ambassador for overtones. |

Never heard the JJ however I own the 7x13 vented little squealer. Great snare for rock and very versitile in my opinion. _________________ "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear a fool than instead to open it and remove all doubt"
