Hey man,

great to see you here! You may find that you are already pretty well known here because I've been ranting about your quad roll video for months, hehe. I was one of those poor saps that struggled with doing single strokes and I sucked at it for a long time, and then when I saw your video and tried it and I've never looked back, and ever since I've been pestering everyone here trying to get them to try out the quad roll for their double bass endeavours. Good stuff!!!! This technique gave me a whole new love for playing drums, and a new way of looking at playing double bass.

Anyway, quite a few people on here have remarked about how they should thank you for your videos, me included, so thanks man! They helped me more than I can begin to say Smile You rock!

cheers

Rick in Toronto

If you watch the new video it explains how you can play it no matter how big your foot is. And yes... you can keep your toe out of the chain.

New kit is a good investment... just remember to also invest in your skills. Weither it is getting a good one-on-one instructor, or books/vids.

Hey Kett, do you know where I can get Tama parts cheap? I need some little pedal parts that you can't just buy in a store, so I think they have to come from Tama, but I don't think I can order directly from them so I need a middle man (I think). I'm splitting my double iron cobra into 2 singles. Anyway, any ideas? thanks

IMO, your best bet is to contact a local distributor. They can likely look up and order in any parts you are looking for. Good luck in your search!

a good way to learn without a double pedal is just using the technique on the hi-hat. i did that before i got my double pedal, and it helped me out alot. it works, man! Very Happy

It's similar, but has some key differences. Slow motion video shows these differences.
