I was given this drum kit by a freind, which wasn't played for 25 years, and has been in storage. It wasn't in the best condition, especially as it had been covered in a taflon-type tape, to cover the different colours, or to keep it safe, either one... But anyway, I spent the weekend cleaning it up, and taking off all the tape, and found a pretty nice kit. Although, the drums are mixed, the snare is from a company called Broadway, the toms are Premier Olympic (1960's) and the bass drum was made by Beverly. Every peice was produced in the UK.

Here are some pics:

The whole kit was bought in the 60's, for £30. There are also cymbals which came with it, but there wasn't enough room to set them up properly.

What do you think? Maybe worth anything? Also, i'd be very grateful if any one had any ideas on how to get off adhesive residue from them, i've tried with white spirit, but it didn't work very well, will anything else do the trick?

Oh yeah, the sizes of the drums are:

Snare: 14 X 5.5"
Tom: 12 X 10"
Floor tom: 16 X 14"
Bass drum: 20 X 12"

Goo Gone! You can find it in most hardware stores, and it's specifically designed for removing tape adhesive and other such goo. But it may require some elbow grease.

I can't speak to the collector value. Try Googling the brand names and see what comes up. I would suspect that if you don't have a complete set, then that set won't be paying off your mortgage. The snare may be worth something as a single.

Assuming little to no collector value I would suggest simply recovering the whole set (don't even bother with the Goo Gone). The same white sparkle wrap is readily available. If you can wrap a X-mas present, then you can recover a drum. And in the end, all of the pieces will match!

I was thinking of selling the two toms, as they are from the same kit. Any idea as to how much i'd be looking at, maybe as a starting price on Ebay, or normal buy?

After playing the snare a couple times, i'm gonna use it with my bands kit, it sounds really nice, needs a new head, but its a good find.
