I am gonna buy a new drum kit this winterand I have been thinking about buying a gretsch catalina birch kit becuase this is what I am looking for:
-$800 or less
-a good sturdy kit
-a good bass drum (preferably 22 inches)
-shell set
-wide tuning range (i often change my tuning sound)
Is that catalina kit a good buy or should i get something else?? |

I have the gretsch catalina birch and it's got all you want. Course the tuning range also has to do with the type of heads you use. _________________ "You can be smart and happy or you can be stupid and miserable."

I have had the Gretsch Catalina Birch kit for 2-1/2 years and I still get thrilled every time I unload and set up this amazing kit. Mine is 6 piece and if you go to our bands web page at http://www.j4fmusic.com you can see the kit I play.
The down side to the Catalina Birch kit is that Gretsch no longer makes this model. Not sure why they discontinued such a great kit but they did. As supplies diminish it’s going to be harder to find what you want and I believe they are going fast.
If you do get a Catalina Birch you will love it I’m sure. _________________ Now playing Slingerland, Gretsch, & Sonor Drums
