|
|
| I have a 5 piece Sonor Force 1001. I got it used from my local music store about a year ago. I am considering upgrading my kit with a 10 inch mounted tom and a 14 inch floor tom. The problem is that Sonor seems to have discontinued the Force 1001. When was the 1001 series discontinued and are there any expansion packs or toms that may fit well with the sound of the 1001? If all else fails, I will pick up a Mapex 7 pc. Birch. |

My advice would be to sell the kit and get a different version.
You'll find it very difficult to expand your current kit. |

Make sure you dont repeat the same mistakes. Looking into a 3005 is going to save you some cash, but bare in mind that it too is now discontinued. _________________ - Sabian endorsee since 1997 -

also, if your looking at the mapex birch kit, have a look at the sonor 2005/2007, its almost exactly the same as the 3005/3007, except birch instead of maple |

The 2007 and 3007 series are actually significantly different from one another! _________________ - Sabian endorsee since 1997 -

They are now known as Force 1007. Every two years Sonor re-works their Force sets and adds 2 to the series number. The 1000 series I think are the same drum, the finish / hardware may have changed. This is generally true of all of the Force sets, however, there were more significant changes - I think it was the 2003 to 2005 change that saw that line go from Bass to Birch. |
