Hey everyone, I'm looking for a new stick to use. I'm currently using Pro-Marks Japanese White Oak Wood Jazz sticks. So far, they've been perfect for what I'm doing which is Jazz/Funky-Rock and hip-hop.
However, these sticks are hard to find, and most online stores have had them on backorder for a long time now.
I've tried using 7A's by various makers, but a lot of them don't have the reach that the Pro-Marks offer.
I'm looking for a stick that is about 16" lengthwise and .512" in diameter.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Take a look at the Zildjian jazz (or heavy jazz, if you like weight) or the Zildjian 6A.

Have you tried looking for your regular stick online?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try the Zildjians out. However, I had some bad experiences with Zildjian sticks. Love their cymbals though. I'll give them a try regardless.

I tried to look for the Pro-Marks online, they're back ordered all over the place. They've been on back order since mid-July I believe.

Sfauts, Steve Gadd sticks are Vic Firth, just so you know. I would recommend them though, or either of the Dave Weckl signatures. David Garibaldi signatures have a bit of extra reach to them too, if thats what you want.

I like reach, a little bit of weight, but I also like thin sticks. Nothing too heavy.
I hate to say this, but the pro-marks japanese white-oaks were perfect.
I have been looking into the Vic-Firth 5A extremes. Also the two Zildjian sticks mentioned.

Bah. I didn't like the 5A extremes.

I believe pro mark also has a 'jazz' line that might be worth looking into.

Yeah, I've been using the Pro-Mark Jazz lines. I'm looking for a new alternative cause they're so hard to find. Laughing
