| I'm thinking about getting a mapex pro m 6 piece with free cherry and maple black panther snare for $1420. I was just wondering what everyone thought of these drums. For the most part i hear good things, but i just wanna make sure im getting my moneys worth. |

Wow, they upped the price a little bit on the Pro-Ms. I have a kit and I think they're fantastic. They're not quite really "Pro" level, but they're touching on it and a good deal. _________________ AeonScape MySpace Music

| What do you think of the hardware? i was thinking the tom holders looked sorta flimsy. Also, do you know anything about the 20 split lug snare? I was trying to look up pictures and info on it but couldnt find anything. |

i got my Pro M kit about a year ago. maple shells with an excellent sound and ease of tuning. can't go wrong.
i have no problem with calling them a "pro" level kit. i could have purchased an Orion series but i prefered them over the Orions. to me the cost difference was nowhere near spending the extra bucks for an all maple shell.
Pro M are probably THE best bang for the buck dollar for dollar compared to other kits.
and sound wise i actually like them better than my old 1991 Orion kit.
the tom holder is fine. i have yet to find ANY problem with it!
when i got my kit they only had an 8 lug snare vs. the 10 lug (20 lug split) they have now. but it really is a great sounding snare.
and it's hard to beat a free Black Panther snare with the kit. of course now you get a 6x13 whereas i got a 7x12, which i would rather have anyway.
overall Pro M gets 4 thumbs up from me!!!! _________________ Mapex Pro-M kit
