I need a new drum kit with hardware and stands. No cymbals. I play hard rock and metal. My budget is about $1000.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Great kit. I have the catalina birch, but they stopped making them. I strongly suggest that you try out different kits yourself though and decide by your personal tastes

If you like two floor toms this would be my pick

I just pulled the trigger on a Tama Superstar SL-5 Custom in Scarlet Fade complete drum set. Also bought a set of Zildjian A Custom cymbals with a free 18' Fast Crash. Also got a set of Remo heads, batter and resonant. Also a Drumdial Drum Tuner, various drumsticks and other small goodies.
I'll post picks when it all gets here and is set up.
Thanks for all your help.

pdp -> nice kits for a nice price. The hardware holds up good and they have great timbre.
