how many sticks have u broken? What are the strongest sticks u've evr used? the weakest? i profer pro mark 5B millenium II wood tip. they're nice and strong. but just out of personal preference i like Travis Barker Sig. series sticks. ive always used them, and they can usually take a beating. Exclamation

I've used all Vater 5b hickory sticks so far... and haven't had one break on me. I used one set enough that the tips started to chip off though and so stopped using them. Other ones have just gotten beat up enough that I went ahead and switched sticks. I don't think I'm that heavy of a hitter.

i have this pair of sticks the name wiped off.

had them for 5 years.

still use them. i sand them now and then to get the soft spots off but they still work.

I have broken sticks in the past. Now I think that was due to poor technique.

I've always used vic firth sticks. I use 5A's and 5B's primarily. I like the sound of wood tips better, but often use nylon for practise, as the tips don't chip. The shoulder eventually whittles away on mine though. I'd say I go through a pair a year of nylons, and perhaps three pairs a year of wood tips.

I hate chipped tips, and discard them more often.

my experience with travis barker sticks is that they ALWAYS break. At a gig, i would break a stick, and would bust out a new trav barker stick, and it would break in less than 5 minutes sometimes. i think zildjian overall is fairly weak.

so far, i think pro mark feels nice and sturdy, but i'm really fond of vic firth's extreme 5As

now, im not sayin that travis barker sig series are the strongest, i have just always used them out of personal preference. i dont suppose im a very hard hitter though. but the only pair i've evr owned tht didnt break (or get chipped tips or just get too *Poop* to use anymore) were my TB sig series and my Pro marks. although i did have a pair of Neil Peart sigs. break on me. but for me the Pro Mark millenium II's usually work 4 me despite the chipped tips and eventual *Poop* they see in their lifetime. I always use Vic Firth 5A's and I've never broken a pair of them. I use to break sticks all the time in my early days as a drummer, but as rasta said I think it was due to poor technique and beating my drums rather than playing them. And as johnchong said Zildjian sticks always break. by far the weakest. I'll never buy another pair of those. I've never used Travis Barker sticks so I can't comment on those. I'll stick (no pun intended) with Vic Firth 5A's wood tip.
