I just bought a new 18" WUHAN CHINA cymbal. Even though these WUHAN china cymbals are common and probably used by many of you I thought I'd give my thoughs on it anyway....
I was amazed at the dynamic range of sounds and musical tones possible whithin this cymbal, I guess I got lucky and got a good one .
-The edge sounds is menacing low almost gongy sounding.
-Hit on the top ridge it shatters in a nice bright glassy crystal like way, could be used nicely for a ride pattern
-Hit between the ridge and the center and it barks out a neat short dry dark "kaaw" sound.
For the price($60.00!! ) I couldn't be happier with the overall sound and looks of it (the hammering looks really cool in the light).
I'm getting a set of WUHAN S series Hi-hats, crash and ride any day now so I'll give you my take on those as well.
Rock on!!!!
I'd post pics but the site won't let me because I don't have enough post yet.. |

| I was excited when I got my 18" Wuhan china. Because it was new. After the new feeling wore off it only took about a week for me to realize it sounded like a trash can lid. Not that there's anything wrong with that but it sure as heck didn't belong in my family of other cymbals. |
