Just joined the forum. Have recently started playing again after a 15 yr. break. Started playing in 1974 on a classic set of Ludwigs. Currently purchased a set of Tama Rockstars. basically a nice set but the Tama heads are TERRIBLE! I'm replacing them with Evans Hydraulics. Cymbals include ZBT's (lousy) w/ a pair of Zildjian New Beat Hats (nice). Recently bought a Zildjian 22" Amir. This is a cymbal I am not familiar with. Bought the Amir for $20 on Ebay.....any thoughts good or bad.
Anyway, It's nice to be here

right on another MD drummer. Welcome to drumdogs!!!! Never heard of a Zildjain Amir but it sounds like you got a good deal on it. _________________ The Lord delights in the ways of man who's steps he has made firm.

| I hope so. I'll let you know. There are mixed reviews on Amir's some good, some not. It likely depends on when the cymbal was made.... |

AWESOME!!! I've only been to 4 Dead shows (Only because I'm a youngin, I was 15 when Jerry died) I've seen the other bands... ie mickey harts mystery box... phil and friends... ratdog... the dead, quite a few times. I'd say I'm a die hard fan aswell. Are you in a jam band now? or a tribute band? _________________ The Lord delights in the ways of man who's steps he has made firm.

have you ever seen Dark Star Orchestra? They put on the closest thing to a dead show you'll ever see. Even Bobby agrees that they're the closest anyone has ever come to capturing the magic. _________________ The Lord delights in the ways of man who's steps he has made firm.

Currently I am in no band.
I have seen Ratgog (as well as a short lived effort "Bobby & the Midnights" at the old Painters Mill) JGB, and most of the private ventures of the Grateful Dead. This summer, I finally saw DSO at the MD State Fair. They are indeed the closest to reproducing the "Dead' experience. What I found very refreshing was the crowd. The fans are half of the experience (good or bad) of the event.
Maybe hook up for a beer sometime. |

| Chase is as far east in Baltimore County as one can get. Drive any further east than here and and your swimming in the bay ( I live waterfront ). Likely the only close joint that anyone except locals frequents is the Riverwatch. |

| Just joined a few minutes ago and noticed your were also from MD. I also retired for about ten years or so, and still have the vintage Ludwig kit I started on. Shoot me a reply when you get a chance. |
