| I have my Dad's old Lido Supreme set. I believe he told me that he bought it around 1969. Everything is in good shape except for some discoloration of the hardware, he played overseas a good deal and on board ships so the salt spray had its effect. I'm not trying to sell it, I like the sound and have had many hours with this set. I just want to learn more about it. It is difficult to find much information about this company on the web. Anyone have any ideas? |

| There is or was a site, and now I can't remember the name of it that has plenty of information on the older Japanese kits. Lido and most of the import kits were made in Japan by the Star company forerunner to Tama and several other Japanese drum companies. They were usually made from what they call Luna wood or cheap Phillipne(sp) mahogany. Not a quality set, but they sound good if they are in round and have decent heads on them. I have a floor tom of that vintage and it sounds alright to me. |
