right now ive been using American Classic rock, but there to *Holy Censor, Batman* heavy for when me and my buddy practice, for live stuff their great and take a hammering...

Im thinking of switching to a smaller vic firth or Promart witha smaller head to get better ride defonition... these sticks are just to heavy when its me and a guitarest just jamming.

You should try Vic Firth 5A American Sound sticks. They have a round tip that sounds wonderful on cymbals. Also, I've found them to be extremely durable.

i am from a brassband and a snare drum player. I currently using Zildjian 5B and Cindy Blackman signatured sticks. Compare to other ,the cindy sticks have more high pitch sound. But, i dun think it is a standard one. And also the place i live only selling zildjian brand . There are 2B,5A,5B,Z4A,7A. Which should i use? Thanks.

It's really up to you, what ever you feel comfortable with. Rock players often prefer heavier sticks while jazz, fusion etc. prefer somewhat lighter sticks, but the choice is yours. BTW where are you from?

I am from malaysia and the band i am in is actually a middle school band. Our band is somehow got a good sponsor , but, our finance are restricted by our *Holy Cow Pud, Batman* *Horse's Patoot* teacher-in-charge. This is not the problem, the problem is tat she didnt know anything about band. When we want to buy thing, she only buy from her friend, tat money eater. We ordered Pearl 4 bass drums(aka multi-toner) but when it come, it was 4-Plus-1(dunno wat the heck brand) and the drum is sux and still cost same as the pearl one. Duh i think it is off topic. Just talking about my band. And isnt the head of the drumsticks affect the type of sound produced?

Of my pile I like my aheads and my zildjian 5a dips, I dig the dips cause you can hold them real loose yet they dont fly out of your hand.

I use Vic Firth American Classic Hickory 5BN's or X5BN's depending on how long my arms feel that particular day.

They are great for rock but they are a bit smooth and they try and slide their way out of your hands sometimes. I've also found that the nylon tips give a much better sound from my ride/hats which is where I spend most of my time.

I used to use £2/$3.65758 Stagg 5Bs but by the end of a practice i was buried upto my waiste (spelt with an 'i', just like pa'i'ste because im that cool Cool ) in shavings...oh yeah and also they sounded shockingly sh*te. Cheap tho....

ive used vic firth 7A's which were very comfy but they were a little to heavy, I now use Tama powertools, theyre cheap bout £5 but theyre quality good sounds off the cymbals. The travis Barker signature sticks are quite good too, although i snapped this after about 6 weeks playing

i used to use vic firths 5BN nylons for forever,
recently i have switched to useing the dave weckl and steve gadd,
my ride loudness suffers during band pracitce, but my medium zildjian cant cut thru the mix at all.
i think the coating on the gadd and weckl sticks makes them more durable
