I'm looking for a very good drum set at of course a very good price! I'm new to drumming and do not know a lot about drums. This will be a set for my studio for mainly recording. I will be taking lessons myself but I will also be inviting professional drummers to play on my recordings.

Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage - 7 piece set. 22 x 17 bass, 12 x 10 & 13 x 11 toms, 16 x 16 suspended floor tom, 5 1/2 x 14 wood snare, 2 boom cymbal stands, hi hat stand, snare stand, kick pedal, throne, extra mounted tom, foot pedal (gibraltar rock) The kit is 4 years old and was told it was made in Indonesia. Features the YESS mounts on toms - 700 series hardware. The shells are 8-ply - a combination of birch, mahogany & falkata wood.

Is this a good set at good price? Opinions?

Exactly. It's a great set for a beginner, and you won't outgrow it quickly, but what price have you seen it for?

excuse me if im reading this completely wrong... but thats not a 7-piece set. usually you only count the individual drums as "pieces," so that would be a 5-piece kit. just want to be sure you're not deceived by someone misrepresenting what they're selling you.

I think that it's an O.K. deal, but you could find a much better deal on a kit at the same quality level as the stage custom advantage.
