So I'm very used to playing with a metronome. I've played with it live before with videos playing in the back round that are timed to the click. I practice with it fairly often.

Lately though I've been having a more difficult time with the metronome then normal. There was a period when I didn't really practice with it and I can definitely tell that I've gotten sloppy. I want to get extremely comfortable with the metronome again, would listening to click tracks in my car or headphones help? I've heard about sleeping with a click track on. I don't know if that's as insane as it sounds.

So drumdogs, give me some good metronome tips!

if you can mute your metronome, set it to a reasonable speed for a few bars, then mute it and keep counting in your head, then unmute and see if you're still in time. rinse and repeat. Smile
