so, ive made the choice to switch to a normal left handed kit, with some different pedal positions, cause i still plan on leading with my right foot.

but, i was kinda pissed, cause when i tried to play cross handed, i kept smashing either rmy hands, or my sticks together. its pissing me off, cause im g2 be getting a sexy kit or pork pies soon, and i really wanna play them left handed.

so please, HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Pork-Pie-Little-Squealer-4-Piece-Shell-Pack-491622-i1394634.gc is that it?

umm, itd probably be best to stay with the open hand with the normal kit, so you dont have to....(pretty much the same thing you said in my topic Smile)
but im not here to tell you what to do so,

theres a few points here

when i started playing, i would hit sticks alot, dont really remeber doing what but i did, and even when i do it now, every good once in a whilemy hand moves wrong and i get a good bruise on my left hand, and usually swear like a sailor doing it.

another thing that i have learned from personal experience is the pedal like that.
if you remeber a topic who the hell knows how far back i did something similar to your drum position(still in the normal side, but....i dont know weird to explain) and because of that positon t made me hit myself alot, with my sticks and clacking sticks, cause your bodies not really used to that position, so i switched back but its possible itll just take time,
or
just put your snare in the middle of your pedals and that should stop alot of it.

hope that makes even a little sense, im tired and have work tomaroow so im trying to hurry

that's the kit exactly Smile

and i think ive worked out a good configuration with my hands. as long as they cross right at the part were my hand meets the stick, then im ok Smile, i think lol

thats cool gotta tell us how that little squeler works out,,
i usually when playing cross, cross about at wrist to wrist, but hell if it works for you go for it.
i would still go back and forth between the placement of the snare, but good luck with it
hopefully this one doesnt get stolen, or maybe ill steal it before anyone gets the chance Cool

Takes a bit of getting used to! I think everyone hits sticks playing cross-handed at some point. But the position you suggested - crossing at the hands rather than at the sticks - seems about right. I never noticed it, but my position is like that too, or with my hands just a little further apart.
