I also just got word that transportation will be provided for us in Providence, which is great!
Still working with everyone to see where we stand and what's going to take place, so I'm still in the dark on a few things. Hopefully everything solidifies soon, I'm getting a little worried here. Aug 8th ain't that far away!
Thanks again for the info everyone! |
Cool. Definitely let me know. I'm supposed to be up in NH for that weekend, but I might be able to sneak over that night. Depending on things. _________________ "I'm not dumb, I just have a command of thoroughly useless information" - Calvin of Bill Waterson's "Calvin and Hobbes" |

You'll hit traffic EVERYWHERE on the way down. Does Providence NOT have it's own airport? If not, then I'd recommend Hartford instead. It's farther away, but you won't have all the big city Boston issues. |
I have to disagree here. Logan traffic is no more with the road work over the past 5 years. You know, the big dig? Logan is actually a breeze to get in and out of now. traffic all the way down? he's arriving Friday night after midnight supposably, there's no traffic at that time of night.
Again he mentioned needing certain flight times (late fri, early monday). PVD and HFD don't have very flexible airlines and schedules like an airport like Logan (or even LGA/JFK) |
I didn't see the midnight portion, but my experience with boston traffic on weekend nights has not been pleasant. It probably wouldn't be TOO hard now to pick up 95 down, but my experiences with Logan lead me to suggest staying away from it and flying into providence as a first thought. |
When was the last time you flew in/out of Logan? |
2003, when I went to Iceland last. I know been a while. Since 2004, I do everything out of Hartford (since I live down here). |
Yeah, Logan's completely different now. Ted Williams tunnel made a huge diff. 10x faster, less traffic over the past 4-5 years. Plus more escape routes. Just a heads up. _________________ "The more control you have of the instrument, the more confidence you will get and the more you will be able to express your ideas; Technique is only good if you can use it musically." -J.M. |
