I just got a new drum set for small gigs at the local theatre's and such, but i'm confused on what cymbals i'll need.
Our band plays mainly Rock, no hard stuff or death metal. We cover bands and singers like Steve Earle, Shinedown... Right now,
I have a solid ride cymbal, decent high-hats, and I think a pretty good crash. The crash is a 16" Zildjian Avedis Thin Crash. I'm wanting to buy a new crash to go along with it. I was wondering what would mix in well with those songs we're covering.... and what would mix in well with the Crash I already have. Price range is around $175.00 if that is possible.
Are Zildjian A Customs a possibility? Maybe a 15" or 16"? Or Zildjian A Custom Fast Crashes? |

You're probably better off sticking within the A or Sabian AA lines (to go with your other cymbals).
Though, a 16" A Custom would probably sound alright with the thin crash.
The big test is taking your cymbals to the store and LISTENING to each cymbal next to them to find what you like best. _________________ "I'm not dumb, I just have a command of thoroughly useless information" - Calvin of Bill Waterson's "Calvin and Hobbes" |

| I'll have to decide between a 16" A Custom Crash or 16" A Custom Fast Crash now, thanks for the suggestions though. |

I have the 16" A Custom crash and it's simply beautiful. The fast crashes are a tinsy bit brighter that the regular A Customs and decay wise, they're not that fast, but simply reach their peak a tid bit faster. That's my experience anyways... I had a 14" fast crash for a bit. _________________ AeonScape MySpace Music
