i have been so undecisive with which stick i want to get and stick to. i have been looking for durability and speed at the same time. i first fell in love with the travis barkers, but the thing that bothered me was the inconsistancy in weight, also that it was a sig. stick which sorta bothers me?
Right now i am using promark 5b oaks which are very nice but are a little too short at 16. one thing i have been wondering about is the durability and weight of the hickory 5b. i have heard that they are too light and break easily.
Vicfirths are not for me cause i have been breaking them in like a few days.
My dream stick right now would probably the vater universals. my store doesnt have them( guitar center) and i dont want to order them online.
can anybody help me by givving some suggestions??????????? |

have a look at carbosticks. i bought some and haven't looked back since. they reckon they're up to 8 times more durable than a wooden stick, but i reckon it could be even more than that. i have very rarely broken these things (when i have it hes been a process of whittling down the taper, not a snap like with wooden sticks) and find them highly reliable.
i don't know about tapers etc but i'm pretty sure they have a range of sizes _________________ If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can’t be taken on its own merits |

if your going through sticks that fast then you need to focus on technique... not durability. I'm a hard rock drummer and I've had same pair of sticks (vic firth hickory 5b) for about 3 years. here's some tips:
don't hit your cymbals on the edge
avoid rim shots unless the song calls for it
play with your wrists, not your arms
play your drums, don't pound them
just a few ideas. _________________ The Lord delights in the ways of man who's steps he has made firm.

Yes... Do that. Also for the stick recommendation... I don't know, I'm still searching for that perfect stick also. _________________ "You can be smart and happy or you can be stupid and miserable."
