hey all,

im looking to get a new snare at christmas so that i will have two.

im well into the drum and bass/rock genre so im looking at a pearl firecracker. this would be my main snare and i will put the one i have at the moment on the left side of my hi hats.

any advice on what snare i should get?

thanks a lot,
Jamie.

Jamie,

You posted this question is the "Pearl" section, so I'm guessing that you are leaning towards their products. The Firecracker snares give a lot of bang for the buck.

Another choice, athough admittedly more expensive is the 13" x 6" Ahead Black over Brass snare. I picked one up about two months ago and it is an amazing sounding drum. Ahead uses "S-hoops" which give great rim shots.
