| No man you don't need the big red latin percussion wood block but if you use a 14' snare or a piccalo you can mount the blue latin percusion block to your bass drum and have it right there for a cross over good luck there only like twenty bucks |

| just a follow up note for all still reading this question. i found what i was looking for at www.vaughncraft.com. the w-2 woodblock and tethermount stand is working perfectly to simulate the cross-stick sound i was looking for. check this website out as there are plenty of top quality percussion instruments available. they are not cheap but when quality of sound counts this is the place to look. |
