Replacing sticks is an expensive routine, so to save some money I decided to try out Nova sticks.

Apparently they are the rejects from the Vic Firth factory (as LA Special is from the Pro-mark factory). They play exactly the the same as the Vic's! Except that they are about 0.5mm out on the "roll-test", they are a good alternative to the real thing.

Oh, and they're a fraction of the price! Wink

The pawn shop back where my parents live sell those pretty much exclusively as their sticks, so I grew up playing on them. And,y eah, they can be rather good, but finding a set of good matched pairs can be a good day's work, but does help keep things cheap.

I woudn't nessicarily recommend them, but they are a good cheap alternative.
