Every time I add something to my shopping cart at music123 they try to sell me these too. I'm curious now. Are these any good for anything?

just more crap to bang on. I dunno if there's much point to them aside from a tinny ringy noise *shrugs*. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I don't think that crap is better than any other crap. They don't look like much to me, honestly. The sound is undoubtedly going to be timbale-like, which doesn't really explain why they're called "mini-tymps"... hmm. Anyway, If you want more crap to bang on, go for it, but personally, I would rather use that money for something else percussion related.

OK, thank you all for your expert advice. I will hold off on the purchase of a new toy. As much as I love them, I have enough stuff to bang on already.

Ish. That's like $500 plus isn't it. I think I want to get a timbale now or used Rototoms from ebay.

Yeah, I was going to suggest that Roto toms are more or less the same sound for much cheaper. They were invented to be travelling Timps anyways. Personally I want the LP mini Timbales, I think those are neat and have a great sound!
