Hey all. I’m doing a project for my geography class in which we learn about the way people in other parts of the world do things, so I thought I would apply the project to my love of music.

How do you feel about the current music scene in the states? Do you like the music we Yankees are making? What would you change? Is there anything we should learn from any foreign drummers, or is there anything you may be able to pick up from us? Do you think that there are any drummers in the states that are particularly talented/unique/creative, and is there anyone we should be looking into? I personally think that Tool is a band that everyone should pay attention to, but that’s just me.

Any input that anyone can give me would be much appreciated. I always think that it’s cool to learn things about other countries, and I care more about this particular one seeing as it involves drums, which is my passion, and the passion of many of the people on this website.

you need to go a bit deeper in the uk to find decent bands check out the likes of...

www.theredinsophieloren.co.uk
www.herence.co.uk
www.cryforsilence.co.uk
www.sikth.co.uk
www.novembercomingfire.com
www.edenmaine.com

the uk and america are very similar in terms of music, perhaps with the uk having dance where the us has rap. as for british drummers to check out that are young and upcoming try dan foord from sikth, kieran ilse from eden maine and will from incoherence.
