i was looking at everyone's sets in The Dog House. Basically, I NEEEEEEEEED to get my slave pedal (left pedal) to stay in place. I have the spikes all the way down (i even took out the springs to get them even further down) i've tried basic velcro, and nothing works. usually i use a car battery to hold it in place, or one of the floor monitors if we're in the studio. im hoping someone has some type of solution for my problem. i have a show this sat. and wanted to see if anyone has any solutions for me before then. Thanks. _________________ Candy - taste like chicken, if chicken was a candy. |

do you play with a carpet beneath you? I use a carpet with minimal velcro and i have never been confronted with any problems other than sometimes when i want to move it the velcro sticks so much that its hard to move _________________ Capitalism is where man exploits man, Communism is the other way around. |

i have this peice of carpet, its rubber on the bottom and this felt type material on the top. i got it from Home Depot. maybe the velcro doesn't stick as well to that type of material, im not sure. what type of drum carpet do you use? and do you use any "special" type of velcro? _________________ Candy - taste like chicken, if chicken was a candy. |

I've used a little cloth strap from the pedal to the throne leg for both pedals to keep them from moving forward.

Their is this like industrial strength all weather velcro made for rough surfaces, I can dang near gaurentee this stuff will hold your pedal in place no matter how much you use it, its like Velcro on steroids x10.
I dont know where you can buy it because the pack I have was purchased over a year ago and I cant remember where I got it from, I think it either came from an office store, or Target but im not possitive.
By the way, one of the spikes on my slave pedal is bent and will only screw about half way down, dont ask me how it happened because I have no idea, anyways if anyone knows where to purchase another spike for a dw pedal let me know. _________________ Sometimes rude, sometimes nice - say something I dislike and pay the price |

I never have any trouble with my double pedal moving but, way way back in the old days before bass drum spurs were nice a pointed, and when there were no spike on the pedals, I would screw my pedalright to my drum riser. Take out your spikes and screw it down. |

| Have the spikes sticking way out and hammer the butt of the spike in to the floor. |

thats awesome, thanks a lot for the quick responses on this guys. i found this like almost plastic type velcro, i dont even know if it's considered velcro. i was at the toyota dealership and saw this mechanic trying to seperate two peices of this gnarly velcro stuff. so i asked him, got some, and plan on trying it out tonight. i have to sets of pedals, i usualy practice in the studio with my Pearl Eliminators, and for shows or home use, i use my DW9002. should i take off the rubber on the bottom of the plate, then stick on this velcro stuff? _________________ Candy - taste like chicken, if chicken was a candy. |

Thats the excact same velcro im talking about, told you this stuff is strong.
I dont know about any rubber on the bottom of the plate because my pedals just have like 3 strips of velco (it came from the factory), no rubber or anything. _________________ Sometimes rude, sometimes nice - say something I dislike and pay the price |

| My Pearl Eliminators have pretty strong velcro, takes a good yank to get them off the floor. |

hey d0ublestr0ker0ll, did you take off the rubber pad on the bottom of your pedals? or did u just put the velcro right on top? I remember when i tried putting velcro on my Eliminators, i just put it on the rubber pad and it came off right away. _________________ Candy - taste like chicken, if chicken was a candy. |

Ive got the dw 7002's, they have like 3 strips of velcro (the regular kind) on the bottom of the slave and master pedal.
I think its one peice under the heel, and one on each edge. _________________ Sometimes rude, sometimes nice - say something I dislike and pay the price |

| No Capter. I took the velcro off of my old Pacific pedals and cut them to where they would fit in between the two rubber pads. The pads sink in to the carpet enough to where the velcro catches. Another thing I might try to do is cut slivers in to the rubber so it catches on harder surfaces...like a basketball sneaker. |
