Anybody else have different head combos on their toms on purpose?
For example, my 10" has coated Studio X over Hi Frequency, my 12" has coated Studio X over Classic Clear, my 13" has coated Response 2 over Classic Clear and my 16" has coated Response 2 over Response 2. These combos work well with my drums. The 10 sings more with the thinner reso. The different batters on the 12 and 13 help create a larger tonal gap between them (more like a 12 and 14). And the 2 ply reso on the 16 helps control it's "rumble" tendencies. Anyone else do this? _________________ "If I didn't make a living beating things with a stick, I'd probably be in a lot of trouble!" - Alex Van Halen |

I used to, but that was just because I couldn't afford to buy a set of heads all at the same time, and Guitar Center didn't have the ones I wanted. so at one time I had a Evans G2 on the 10", Studio X Coated on the 12", and a Remo Emperor on the 14". _________________ Yamaha SCA
