I really want a chrome over wood kit, and the only brands with that finish that I can find, is Ludwig and Slingerland.
I know that Pearl have chrome kits, but don't like their look.

The thing is, I play two bass drums, three tom toms plus some more, so I will have to buy two kits.

Can you "mix" two brands???

So what should I go for???

Any advice when buying used kits???

Is it safe to buy drums on Ebay???

I dont really see why your drums HAVE to look a certain way but suit youself. I wouldnt suggest mixing to kits together because then all the heads will have to be replaced so that they all have the same sort of sound. They will also have shells that sound a little different from each other.

If you are buying a used kit you should check the bearing edges of all the shells for bumps or deformities. Also make sure all hardware is in good working condition. If anything doesnt work how it should you will either have to replace it or get it fixed which can be a real pain.

You can order off ebay, but I wouldnt suggest it because it could easily be damaged, defective, or you just dont like the hardware. I think there are just too many things that could go wrong when buying from ebay.

P.S. Why don't you use a double pedal instead of a double bass kit? Just something for you to think about...

Yeah, you might want to try out a double pedal instead of buying another bass, or buying two sets etc.

Also, I would deffinately stay away from ebay when buying used or expensive items. You cant trust most of the people, just because they might have hundreds of positive feeback doesnt mean they wont rip you off or sell you some bum equipment that was advertised to be something its not.
