Wondering if ne1 out there new what heads Dave Grohl used on his set during his Nirvana days. His solo at the end of Nevermind's Stay Away sounds sweet. Im preety new to drumming so when you say heads are "pingy" is that the sound u mean?
Thanx

I'd guess heavy Remo's. If I recall, they had to change the heads after every song. Perhaps an Emperor Ambasador on the snare?

the great sound he got was more down to the recording conditions and the fact that Dave used huge toms, a 14 inch mounted and 18 inch floor. thus his very low phat sound. Very Happy

I have used a few diff. heads. I have found Evens are the best for what I am looking for. Ever checked them out?
