Hey I just found this place and wanted to say that you've got a cool site here and I look forward to posting as much as possible on here.
Just to introduce myself briefly I'm 16 from England and been playing for 5 years. My influences are Chad Smith, Mitch Mitchell and Stewart Copeland (but looking to listen to more good drummers so any suggestions would be great)
Cheers Very Happy

Hey there, Bronson, and welcome!

You've got some great drummers as your influences, I must say.
Tell me what style(s) of music you're most interested in playing in and I'll try to recommend some guys (and hopefully other members will as well.)
Enjoy!

Cool

Hey there, Bronson!

Yes, this is a cool place and that's because the Moderators are people who care about the members and discuss drumming intelligently and they encourage people of all skill levels and ages -- as do most of the members. (There are always exceptions.)

I am quite a bit older and am enthusiastic about going back into drumming (was a teenager last time I drummed) and I have not yet been criticized or given negative advice or comments.

Hope you enjoy posting and reading here.

- Jim

Hi Bronson and welcome. If you're looking for incredible drummers, check out Frank Zappa. My favorite four drummers all played with him: Aynsley Dunbar, Terry Bozzio, Vinnie Colaiuta and Chad Wackerman. Start with Joe's Garage or Sheik Yer'Bouti

Nope. Bristol is krap for Drum Stores. This is about the 6th or 7th biggest city in England, and there is about 3 drum shops!! And the choice in each of them is appalling. And for some reason, very expensive. Great, hey?

There are 2 good drum shops that I've heard of here in England. One is in Eastbourne and the other in Folkestone .... but I can't swear to that cus I haven't been to them yet. Look 'em up in the book and have a chat to them about their stock .... you never know it might be worth the day out!

The drum shops here in York are crap. But Doncaster and Bradford are good.
It seems the best drum stores arew always down south. For instance i want to check out istanbul cymbals but the nearest stockists are miles away in Essex. Crying or Very sad
