i have a pair of the vic firth rock sticks, and i broke them the third time i used them. i guess its just luck of the draw... ive never once broken one of my tiny SD4s, but cracked this one right down the middle.

I switched to the Vader 5b David Silveras(guy from Korn) and I like them.. they are long as hell though(like 17 1/8 inches)... THere even longer then the vic rock Ns I had.

The Rock N's make my hands hurt real bad(have CTS so its no fun)... the Silveras were hard to get used to, but I really like them.

As for the people that have broken few sticks... play harder you wuss's Razz
