I currently have a mapex venus kit with camber6000 cymbals and was wondering if i should spend money on upgrading my kit to a Premier APK kit (without cymbals so ill be stuck with camber) or some new cymbals like some Sabian B8 crash, ride and Hi-Hats? Which i saw where about the same price second hand in my local paper

New cymbals! The whole sound of your kit will improve, I would think.

I dont think a upragde to B8 is worth it!
If you are gonna upgrade your cymbals, you need to go @ least 2 the XS20 range from sabian!

Man, that signature pic is disturbing, paintballer. Every now and then, I still shudder when I see it.

Anyway, back on topic. Yeah, I would get some cymbals and heads. That kit is not really that bad. There are much worse out there, believe me. Some cast bronze cymbals and new heads would make the whole thing sound like a new kit.

As said before get some heads and cymbals. You'll be surprised. But for the love of god and everything that is holy dont buy B8's. Dont think about them dont go near them. This of couser is stemming from a past B8 expirence.

I think with some new heads and the right tuning that you could probably get those venus' sounding pretty sweet man!!I played a venus kit that was on sale @ 1 of my local music stores and it sounded pretty sweet!!
Then with some XS20's on it, ur in pretty good shape man!!
Just yeah....stay away from B8's and 302s!!
If you dont have the cash, maybe save a few months and get something decent, it doesnt make sense buying cymbals that are gonna suck and then replacing them in like 6 months anyway!!Get something u will be happy playing 4 a while!!
Stick with the kit tho IMO!!

Never mind; I looked in a store and they cost about as much as my whole kit did! Oh well I guess I just need to save up longer. Thanks for the replies guys!
